The book has been described in a number of articles; most notably by Karl Küp(2) who also speaks about the four colored woodcuts probably made in Nürnberg around the year Two woodcuts are pasted into the inside upper and lower boards, the others are interspersed throughout the text. An obvious function of many endpapers is to cover the inside of the book board, hiding the cover turn-ins. When an endpaper is not pasted down, the corner turn-ins are visible and the inside board is covered separately.

Paper quality is important: it should be strong and pliable, easing the strain or opening a book. Once object is dry, the lining is cut around the Mylar and removed, or the lining is cut on three sides forming a flap.
